The Garden Center at Grand Island Serene Gardens
Our Garden Center is in its initial stages of being constructed. We will be Western New York’s newest, and most original Garden Center/Home Interior store. The new Garden Center and interior/exterior decor product site is now here! CLICK HERE for the Online Store! What makes us different? • We specialize in Eco-Friendly, Organic, and natural products. • The Japanese Arts and Culture theme of our store extends to garden design and Japanese specialty trees, flowers and plants. • Japanese Gifts, such as original pottery and Wind Chimes that we import from Japan. • We have a small team of Japanese Garden Designers, who have trained in Japan, here to help you develop your own serene garden. • We are a destination garden center with Japanese garden displays of the highest quality. • Not only are we a garden center but we are a cultural events center featuring various activities such as classes on Ikebana Japanese Flower Arranging and the Shakuhachi Bamboo flute. • But most of all, we are a family run business aiming to provide you with a unique experience. We are developing our Japanese home decor/interior and arts boutique. We are aiming to have the storefront up and running in Fall 2011 to serve the Buffalo and Niagara (Western New York and Ontario) and surrounding areas. If you are interested in Japanese landscaping, we are there to help develop your serene garden. In addition to your average gardening needs, we wish to provide you with specialties related to the Japanese garden and other items to give you a unique experience at our place. Our overall goal is to provide you with a fresh and relaxing atmosphere at our store as well as help you develop your own serene space. The owners Josh and Satomi Smith have extensive experience with Japanese gardens in Japan as well as Japanese arts such as Ikebana flower arranging and Japanese music. Nursery and Garden Center Manager (and Josh’s brother) Matt Smith has also visited and studied gardens in Japan, undergone training in landscaping, and is a Certified Horticulturist. The one connecting thing that we all have is that at the root of it we are a team of artists with traditional and contemporary styles. The Garden Center will also have an event space where various classes will be taught, such as Japanese language, shakuhachi bamboo flute, Japanese Ikebana flower arrangement, and Japanese tea ceremony. In addition, the event space will be available for private parties, as well as other teachers of various arts, meditation classes, yoga classes etc. If you are a teacher or someone interested in renting the space please contact us. We guarantee to provide a beautiful, quiet and serene environment overlooking one of our best gardens. We aim to fulfill the basic needs of home gardeners as well as offer something new and unique to the Buffalo and Niagara area. We have situated ourselves in the Niagara Frontier on Grand Island, NY. It is actually very close and convenient to the cities and surrounding areas (10 minutes from Buffalo and Niagara Falls), however physically the island does have an air of separateness. Just like a Japanese garden, the area is defined and quiet, yet we hope to gather like-minded people who have an appreciation for culture, art, and the universal beauty of nature. If you have any suggestions or comments about the store please feel free to leave us a message. We'll be seeing you soon!
